peppers

A window into the stages of watercolour painting

Shaun has been working on a painting. His reference is a photograph that I (Holly) took of some red peppers sitting in the sun on a thin plastic wrap, on our Kitchen table. Anyway, he is a little more than half finished the painting. Here are a few pictures....

Love Offered

This was a commissioned piece, that Shaun did. I was the hand model. Shaun took over 30 pictures of my hands, so he could work from the photos. ;o)

Wine and Srawberries

This is a very large painting. It now hangs in the home of the Mill's. Shaun set up a still life for this painting out on the deck...used an antique table cloth, some crystal, juice and strawberries. Yum!

Glow

A Christmas painting that Shaun made for me. This painting is quite small aprox. 5x7.
Private collection.

Candles and Holly

We lived in a Century home for 3 years. It had large window sils that were so fun to decorate at Christmas. On this particular day, the windows were thick with frost. Shaun gave me this painting as a Christmas gift. Then 6 months later, he got it matted and framed, for my Birthday. I love it! It hangs in our living room. Private collection.

"Three's a Crowd"

This watercolor is one of my very favorites that Shaun has done to date. It hangs in our kitchen. I love the drippy bits and watery blurs of the green at the top of the piece. This work was done from still life. The fruit sat on a glass table, thus the reflection. Beautiful. Shaun also took quite a few photographs of the still life.

Juicy

Shaun painted this, watercolor painting for an exhibit that was to be hung during a wine tasting event. It is a fairly large piece.
